Make A Wave Program

Druoun X Images is proud to present to you the Make A Wave Program, a project initiated by DXI's founder - Matthew Chua. The aforementioned project is a photo-manipulation tutorial / socio-civic involvement training, which will take effect for one and a half-month intensive session. The program was developed with three basic principles - Learning, Sharing, and Serving.

Make A Wave Program has been conceptualized last December 2010 and after a month-long period of conceptualization, Matthew did release the logo (photo above) followed by the release of the first date of the tutorial session entitled "Wave 1" (photo below).

"Wave 1", the pioneering series of Make A Wave Program, starts this coming Saturday (Feb 5). Everything is ready (including the three students) and all exciting lessons are set to be revealed from day 1 to the last day of the program.

Make A Wave Program aims to:

Teach different photo-manipulating techniques.
Enhance creativity and imagination.
Teach basic principles of leadership.
Develop the passion to share and to serve the community.

Note: Make A Wave Program has been developed to be the model project of ALA-International (Artists for Leadership and Advocacy International) in order for members to gain idea in how they can make use of their God-given talent in becoming part of the solution of the society that they're part of.

Introducing ALA-International

Its primary goal is to give a venue for artists, who are fund of creating artworks that speak more of an awareness that needs to be delivered worldwide in order to educate people. Christmas Means?

What is the real essence of Christmas? Why are we celebrating it? Is it to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ? or... Is it to remember Santa Claus?

Why are we so excited for Christmas every time we reach the "ber month"? Is it because of Santa's gifts? or... Is it because it reminds us how God sent his only begotten son? Thinking once? Thinking twice? Well, we should be thinking thrice as we try to evaluate ourselves on how we define Christmas.

Well, we were once kids and all we knew about Christmas back then (possibly until now) was about being good in order to receive gifts from Santa. We can't blame ourselves for having such a misconception because good old Santa has been emphasized throughout the ages, which made him more popular than the birth of Christ. It seems like each year (December) became a battle between fantasy and faith - a battle of popularity and authenticity amongst people. And it is a challenge for us to educate ourselves and to educate others about the real meaning of Christmas - the birth of Jesus Christ in order for him to experience death and for us to be saved from our sins.

Let's all transform GREAT DREAMERS into TRUE BELIEVERS! Go on... spread the message!

World AIDS Day 2010

December 1 is here again. It signals the start of the month of December (the much awaited month of the year). But did you know that this particular date has a much deeper meaning? Yes, it truly has. Just to give you a quick information, December 1 was actually declared as the "WORLD AIDS DAY" in order to remind the public about its harmful cause and effects to the society.

This year's theme of DXI emphasizes the should-be common knowledge of everyone - AIDS KILLS. Language should not be a hindrance in delivering the message across the globe because no matter where we live and what language we use, AIDS is still AIDS.

It spreads... it infects... it kills!

Let's all spread this simple yet striking concept of DXI. Remember, AIDS should not be taken lightly because it destroys the life, hope and future of everyone.

Some thoughts to ponder:

1. Unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Unclean drinking water can incubate some pretty scary diseases, like E. coli, salmonella, cholera and hepatitis A. Given that bouquet of bacteria, it's no surprise that water, or rather lack thereof, causes 42,000 deaths each week.

2. More people have access to a cell phone than to a toilet. Today, 2.5 billion people lack access to toilets. This means that sewage spills into rivers and streams, contaminating drinking water and causing disease.

3. Every day, women and children in Africa walk a combined total of 109 million hours to get water. They do this while carrying cisterns weighing around 40 pounds when filled in order to gather water that, in many cases, is still polluted. Aside from putting a great deal of strain on their bodies, walking such long distances keeps children out of school and women away from other endeavors that can help improve the quality of life in their communities.

4. It takes 6.3 gallons of water to produce just one hamburger. That 6.3 gallons covers everything from watering the wheat for the bun and providing water for the cow to cooking the patty and baking the bun. And that's just one meal! It would take over 184 billion gallons of water to make just one hamburger for every person in the United States.

5. The average American uses 159 gallons of water every day – more than 15 times the average person in the developing world. From showering and washing our hands to watering our lawns and washing our cars, Americans use a lot of water. To put things into perspective, the average five-minute shower will use about 10 gallons of water. Now imagine using that same amount to bathe, wash your clothes, cook your meals and quench your thirst.

     When was the last time that we were encouraged to do something worthwhile? When was the last time that we have encouraged other people to continue what they've started and to finish the remaining chapters of the dream that their pursuing?

     If none, then this post shall remind you to encourage them because encouraging someone isn't just words being given by people. Those words would really mean a lot and would change the way they think and the way they would handle things in times of difficulties. Just to make it simpler - encouragement would change their lives forever!

   One would need to be equipped with PASSION, DETERMINATION, EXCELLENCE, and DEDICATION for him/her to achieve what he/she desires to accomplish. But there are times that a person would feel empty because of the lack SELF-MOTIVATION and that's the perfect time for someone to ENCOURAGE that person for him/her to move forward and to continue the battle that was destined to be finished in a very triumphant way.

Today's her 21th birthday and she deserves to celebrate this very special day with a positive mind and a passionate heart for he to reach her ultimate goals in life.

Earthquake Tragedy in Haiti: Become Their Light

.....January 12, 2010 became the worst nightmare ever for the citizens of Haiti. With the 7.0 magnitude, the destructive earthquake left a footprint of chaotic scenario. Many lives have been taken and a lot of people's hearts are bursting from too much pain. What's even worst from this part is when those affected people lose their hopes and felt like the world has turn its back from them.

.....Every people in this planet are needed in showing, helping, and guiding the Haitians from this tremendous dilemma. Through this blog of mine, I'm calling the attention of each and every one's hearts to help our fellow people because we were all created for the sake of helping our own kind when they are in need of our help. We must serve as their guiding lights that shine so bright. Bright enough to show them the way and not mislead them. We, the non-victims of this tragedy, are the remaining hopes of this world. Let's all help our fellowmen regardless of color, raises, and religion because after all, we all have the same type of heart. A type of heart that beats faster and faster in times of trouble and urgency and becomes more caring and loving every time a situation like this occur.

.....Last September 26, 2009, typhoon Ondoy delivered a huge amount of terror to the people of the Philippines. Hundreds of people died and properties that cost millions have been damaged. The scene that the typhoon left is very disheartening.

.....Today, October 1 (first day of the month), signifies a new beginning and a new HOPE. A new beginning that should serve as the victim's starting point and a new HOPE that should serve as their primary inspiration to move forward and to continue with whatever life has to offer them. But, it's not that easy for them to start all over again. Those victims lost their loved ones, properties, and even their HOPE. What these people need right now are people of their own kind who expresses help beyond their potentials. Help... that can only be felt when sincerity has been injected and help... that can light a new and a much brighter direction.

Let's show these victims that we're one of those people who wants to see them have a new and better life.

.....Ms. Catherine Canete is an employee of a school in the Philippines and she's one of the most dedicated people when it comes to her work. DXI can feel the overflowing passion that passes on her veins as she executes her job perfectly. A devotee when it comes to over-time (actually, it's too much over-time).

Deteriorating Paradise

.....The month of August is here and there's a lot of things that Druoun X Images would love to share to its growing visitors worldwide. It feels nice to know that more and more people are engaging in DXI's "Pose for a change" program. And to start the month right, DXI is very pleased to feature Manilyn.

.....Manilyn sent her simple yet quite unique photo (left) which serves as an inspiration for DXIs author, Matthew S. Chua. The photo can be considered simple yet meaningful. With this kind of scene, people may actually notice the background scenery more than the poser itself. Based from the evaluation of DXI, the photo has passed its standards and dubbed as "nature above self" photo wherein the poser, Manilyn, poses for people to see and appreciate the background scenery rather than appreciating her.

.....O.K., enough with the introduction. The next part is to reveal the end-product that Druoun X Images has created for Manilyn and here it goes:

"I never saw how God created the paradise and all I'm seeing right now is how people of my own kind destroys it. It is a blessing to have a life for me to see the beauty of it. But, it is also a living pain for me to witness how it begins to deteriorate."

This picture (left) tells the readers of Druoun X Images why she's one of the most loved in terms of exposures and attention from this site. Her submitted photo has a scenic creativity which expresses a thousand words and phrases.

.....If you're wondering who's that Lithuanian girl representing "Green Revelation", then this post will definitely give you a slight information. Her name is Karolina. She really do have a number of promising pictures that can show her uniqueness and creativity in doing unique scenes. Today's post is her second appearance for Druoun X Images' "Pose for a Change".

This picture of Karolina can be considered as one of her one-of -a-kind scene. She, again, have this butterfly object on her scene and it gave DXI such an inspiration.

.....Today's post is a very special one because a girl from Lithuania expressed her interest in DXI's advocacy in sharing and offering to people worldwide a one of a kind leadership in an unexpected way. She has chosen to be one of DXI's models and she really did an awesome job by having a very unique pose that this sight is looking for. A very challenging yet fun experience for DXI. It's such a fulfillment for this site to have her as the newest DXI model.

.....As a result of evaluating her submitted photos, Druoun X Images picked up one and decided to turn it into an advocacy photo which shows the girl's given atmosphere and her influence in reaching out for people's hearts. Below, is the finished product of her submitted photo which is entitled "Green Revelation".

.....A smile is worth a thousand expressions. One would be delighted if somebody smiled at them. Smiles were already part of man's history as Leonardo Da Vinci immortalized Monalisa's smile. Here in DXI, one of our senders sent us an awesome picture of her wearing her famous smile.

.....DXI made some arrangements and a lot of conceptualization to her submitted picture just to give her the best way to immortalize her trademark (her smile).
